The digitisation process in Slovenia is directed from bottom to the top. There’s no national strategy or priorities for digitisation which could be used by cultural institutions when planning digitisation projects. Despite the lack of the national strategy Ministry of culture financially supports projects on digitisation and access to digital content.

There’s a number of portals to access the digitised content, provided by libraries, museums, musical associations, film archive etc. The most important is Slovenian digital library (dLib.si), which intends to become a Slovenian aggregator for cultural heritage content.

Portal KAMRA is focused on the local content, contributed mainly by public libraries and other local cultural institutions. The presentation of the digital objects as stories, presented together with the textual context is unique, comparing to other portals in Slovenia.
